Do Tameless products contain Palm Oil?

No way, hozay! We wouldn’t like it if someone takes away our home and we feel the same way about our friends the orangutans in Indonesia, where palm forests are being chopped down for the production of palm oil.

Now that you know the truth you can be part of the change. Next time you buy any product, from skincare to biscuits, look at the ingredients list and if it contains palm oil don’t buy it. Or at least make sure it is from a sustainable source. High five Mr. Orangutan!

Are your products vegan friendly?

We only use beeswax in some of our products. You don’t have to worry though, we only source these ingredients from friendly honey bee farmers, that respect and love their little bee buddies as part of their own family. Please check your product’s ingredients list if your product contains beeswax or not.

Do Tameless products contain nuts?

Yes, some of our products do contain nut oils or nut derived ingredients. If you have a specific allergy, we ask that you please check the ingredients list on the label of each product or you can check it out on the individual product pages, here on our website.

Can I have an allergic reaction to a Tameless product?

Yes, just like people’s personalities are different, so are their skins. If any redness, itchiness, or other allergic reaction occurs, stop using the specific product immediately and consult medical advice. Although all our products are made from natural ingredients it is still possible to have an allergic reaction. Even though nuts are natural, there a people that can have dangerous allergic reactions then touching or consuming them We advise to patch test before making a purchase or applying to a large area of your body.

Do your products contain synthetic fragrances or artificial colours?

Nope. The scent of our products comes from pure essential oils and the colours are derived from other natural ingredients like ground plant materials and minerals. That’s why you’ll never see a Tameless product in a bright and unnatural colour.

Are Tameless products safe to use while pregnant? Are they safe for my baby?

We advise that you consult with your doctor before using any of our products while you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, although all our products are 100% natural, the high concentrations of certain essential oils could be overpowering for the delicate skin of your newborn child.

Why does my Tameless product look or smell a little different from the last batch?

Tameless products only contain natural ingredients. As with plants or fruits, there are seasonal differences because of external factors like weather pattern changes. So a slight difference in appearance or fragrance is totally normal for a natural product.

What is the best way of taking care of my Tameless products and extending the shelf life?

Natural products are more sensitive to light and heat, hence the use of stained glass for some of our products. But we also ask you to ensure that you close the lid tightly after each application. Products should be kept out of direct sunlight and under 25°C. For warmer climates, we recommend you keep your products in the fridge. As we don’t use any harsh preservatives in our products they are more susceptible to contamination, thus we recommend you always cleanse your hand before using products like balms and treatments.

Why use natural skincare products instead of the mainstream products?

Most commercially manufactured skincare products have been refined by chemical processes and are very far from their natural state. They contain harmful ingredients like sulphates, preservatives, dyes, parabens and much more that are absorbed by the skin.

Tameless products are truly natural in that they do not contain any of these possibly harmful and toxic ingredients. We believe in keeping the ingredients of our products as close to its natural state as possible.

Are Tameless products suitable for men?

Yes, all Tameless products are unisex.

What is the difference between a serum and a moisturiser?

Serums are oil-based, whereas moisturisers are water-based. Serums are usually a more concentrated formula of ‘active’ ingredients that can easily be absorbed into the skin. They are filled with antioxidants that deeply penetrate the skin to restore and repair.

Moisturisers, on the other hand, provides and locks in moisture into the skin, to leave it feeling fresh and hydrated for extended periods of time.

Do natural ingredients really work?

Of course! Natural ingredients have been the source of good health in both our diets and as topical remedies for the healing of damaged skin and wounds for centuries. Look at all the traditional healers that could cure most ailments with common herbs found in their regions. It’s only recently that we have become aware of the truths behind these methods and people are moving away from pharmaceutical treatments and opting for a natural alternative.

Why are you not certified organic?

We use many awesome all natural ingredients in our products that may or may not be organic due to our individual suppliers and us not being able to afford the certification at the moment. One day the whole world will catch up and organic will become the standard.

Are any of your products tested on animals?

Never ever! From ingredient sourcing to product distribution – none of our products are and will ever be tested on animals!

Each product is formulated using select ingredients that caters for a specific skin care need. We then distribute samples to our test community of various individuals will all skin types to provide feedback before we launch the product tot the public.

How do I create a Tameless account?

You will need to create a Tameless account if you would like to buy or review a product on our website.

To do this simply select the create account option from the top navigation menu, follow the prompted commands and fill in your details. Simple as that.

How do I navigate my account dashboard?

Once you have created and logged into your Tameless account, click on the my account button in the top navigation bar for desktop, or within the dropdown (hamburger) menu for mobile, in order to navigate to your account dashboard.

Your dashboard displays the following information:

Orders:

This will show you all your past orders and current orders on hold.

Addresses:

This will allow you to edit both your billing and shipping addresses.

Account Details:

Here you can change your name, email, and password information.

Points:

This will show you all the Tameless Rewards points you have earned for shopping with us. These points can be used with any Tameless online purchase. For more information on Tameless Rewards click here.

Wishlist:

This area will display all Tameless items that are currently in your wishlist. To add items to your wishlist, simply click on the small heart icon when hovering over the product image.

Logout:

By pressing logout, you will be securely logged out of your account and to order or see your account page you will have to log in again using your username and chosen password.

How do I unsubscribe from your newsletter?

All our newsletters have an unsubscribe button in their footer that will automatically remove you from our mailing list. Just click this link and you will be directed to the unsubscribe page.

How does Tameless Rewards work?

Shipping & Returns

Do you ship locally and internationally?

As we are a small batch producer we only ship to addresses within South Africa. 

How much does shipping cost?

We offer two shipping rates:

  1. The first is a flat rate of R120 on all orders where the basket total is under R599.
  2. Free shipping is applied to all orders where the basket total exceeds R599. Remember to select this option on checkout if your basket value falls within this criteria, as it defaults to the standard flat rate shipping option.

    Note that using coupons and points will decrease your basket amount and can possibly void your free shipping criteria.

How long does shipping usually take?

Once you place your order online it can take us between 1 – 2 working days to process your order. The first working day is the following day that the order is placed. Working days exclude weekends of course.

Although we do our very best to ensure all orders placed are picked, packed and dispatched within 2 working days of when they are ordered, there are times when this may not be possible. Especially during busy times of the year, like Christmas time. We ask that you please understand and rather order early to avoid a possible delayed shipment.

Only after processing your order will your parcel be dispatched and the estimated shipping time will start, which will be between 2 – 3 working days (3 – 5 working days for Regional areas). 

Can I ship to my work address?

Ofcourse! To make it easier for our couriers and to ensure a timeous delivery, please ensure that you add as much information as possible on your delivery address including:

  • Building name and number
  • Office or business name
  • Floor and office number
  • Contact person or person receiving the parcel on your behalf
  • Correct cellular details
How can I track my order?

After you order is processed and your package is handed over to our couriers, we’ll email you a tracking number that you can use on our courier company’s website to check the status of your delivery.

Our service couriers will deliver your parcel at your requested address and you or someone you know will have to sign for it. Making sure you receive your awesome products!

I've not received my items. Who do I contact?

We try our best to get your Tameless products to you as soon as possible but in the unlikely event that you have not received your order within the estimated delivery time, please contact our customer support at orders@tameless.co.za and we’ll assist you in tracking down your parcel.

I've changed my mind, how do I return my package?

Should you for any reason wish to cancel your order after delivery to you, you must notify Tameless in writing of your cancellation (orders@tameless.co.za) and any such cancellation notice must be provided by the person who placed the order with us and must be communicated within 7 calendar days of delivery.

The relevant goods must be returned to us, at your own cost, unopened, unused and undamaged in the original packaging within 14 calendar days of your delivery date.

If the goods are returned as set out, you will receive a full refund within 30 calendar days of our receipt of the returned goods (provided that you have made your bank details available to us).

Only in cases where the the cancellation request is received before the generation of a shipping waybill, will we refund shipping costs. If a waybill is already generated the customer will not be refunded with the shipping costs and only the cost of the basket items.

My products are damaged, faulty or do not match the description. Can I return them?

Should this be the case, please ensure you notify Tameless in writing (orders@tameless.co.za) and return the affected items to us within 21 days of receiving them. Please pack it in a sealed box with protective packing material when sending it back to us. Refunds will be issued within 7 days after receiving the products on our side.

In the case of products being damaged, faulty or not matching the description, we will pay for the additional postage costs of returning the products back to us, provided that we recieve a copy of your shipping receipt.

Payments

What are my payment options?

We offer two secure payment options:

Credit card:

Tameless has the facility to accept all credit card and chipped debit / cheque card payment with VISA and MasterCard. This payment method allows almost immediate transfer of the funds into our account which will ensure faster delivery times.

EFT / Electronic Funds Transfer:

If you choose this method of payment you will be able to complete the check out process and complete your order. As soon as the funds reflect in our account your order will be processed. EFT payments can take between 24 to 72 hours for the funds to reflect in our account.

How secure is my credit card details?

We use PayFast as our secure payment gateway portal who are one the largest payment gateways in Africa. Tameless is an authorised merchant registered with PayFast. When payment for you order is processed you are redirected to the PayFast servers.

PayFast is developed with the same demands on security and performance as web sites used for banking services and share trading. Your account personal details, and all money transactions are secured using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology with high security 256 bit encryption.

Additionally:

  • We do not keep or see any of your credit card details as this is all handled by the encrypted information through the PayFast servers.
  • All transactions implements 3D Secure. This is a technical standard created by Visa and MasterCard to further secure CNP (Card-holder Not Present) transactions over the Internet. MasterCard brands their system as ‘MasterCard SecureCode’ and Visa call theirs ‘Visa Secure’.
My payment is not being accepted. What could be the problem?

There could be several reasons for this:

  1. Please check that you have entered all your personal details such as billing address and cellular number in correctly.
  2. Your bank could be offline, so a secure authorisation is not possible.
  3. If you are using a debit card you may have reached your daily limit.
  4. The credit card authorisation system may have timed out.

Your best approach is to contact your bank for more details. If you’re still having problems, please contact Tameless at orders@tameless.co.za and we’ll see if we can get to the bottom of it.

Privacy

Is my account information kept private?

Yes, all account details are kept safe. All accounts are required to have a unique password, and this is the only way to view your account and change the details so please keep this password in a safe place. For more information see our privacy policy.

Is my credit card details stored on your site?

No, we don’t ever see, save or have access to your credit cart details. We use PayFast as our payment gateway portal, of which Tameless is an registered authorised merchant. All transactions is processed through the secure and encrypted PayFast payment portal.
